About Shelf
Shelf is a dynamic startup revolutionizing asset management and location tracking with QR labels. Our innovative approach allows users to print their own QR labels, affix them to assets, and effortlessly track their locations using a smartphone scan. Each asset has its dedicated secure page where users can add notes, comments, photos, videos, and more. As an intern at Shelf, you will have the chance to work with a team of professionals and contribute to the development of an open-source software that aims to simplify asset tracking for individuals and businesses.
Position Overview
As a Full Stack Developer intern at Shelf, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop skills in building modern web applications using full stack JavaScript and TypeScript. This internship provides hands-on experience and exposure to the latest technologies, allowing you to enhance your proficiency in both front-end and back-end development. You will work with a talented team of professionals and contribute to the development of an open-source project, enabling you to showcase your work and make an impact within the developer community. While previous experience with Remix Run and TypeScript is beneficial, it is not a strict requirement for this internship.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the development team to design, develop, and maintain web applications using Remix Run and TypeScript.
- Contribute to the open-source project, enabling junior developers to showcase their skills and contribute to the developer community.
- Assist in integrating and optimizing Prisma DB and Supabase within our tech stack.
- Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure high-quality and efficient code.
- Contribute to the development of innovative and scalable solutions that align with Shelf's goals and standards.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Proficiency in web development fundamentals such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with TypeScript and Remix Run is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Basic understanding of database technologies, with experience in Prisma DB and Supabase being an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Enthusiasm for learning and keeping up with the latest trends in web development.
Location
This internship can be fully remote, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own home. However, if you reside in the Netherlands, you will have the opportunity to visit our office in Arnhem and work on-site alongside our talented team.
Duration
The internship is for a minimum duration of 3 months and can be extended based on mutual agreement and performance evaluation.
Compensation
Please note that this is an unpaid internship. However, we believe in providing valuable learning experiences and mentorship to our interns, and we will support your professional growth throughout the internship.
