Team Plan Trial
What can you do with a 7 day Team Trial? An overview of Shelf's team asset management trial offering.
Overview
If you want to try out team asset management features, a trial provides an excellent starting point. You can explore Shelf at your own pace by importing inventory or creating items individually. The trial enables testing of the bookings module and customizing fields without restrictions, plus inviting co-administrators to your workspace.
How to Activate a Team Workspace Trial
- Create an account on Shelf (each account creates a personal workspace)
- Navigate to settings, then the subscription tab
- In the Team plan column, select the button to activate a trial, which directs you to a confirmation page

Key Trial Details
Duration and Support
At trial's end, a Shelf team member will contact you for feedback and discuss whether a subscription suits your business.
Payment Requirements
The trial does not require any payment method. Your team workspace will pause when the trial concludes — you will have the option to add payment details and continue.
If you already have a payment method on file: When starting a trial with a payment method saved in your account, Shelf requires you to check a consent checkbox confirming that you understand your payment method will be automatically charged when the trial ends. This prevents unexpected charges. You can cancel before the trial ends from Settings > Subscription to avoid being billed.
Getting Started
All that is needed is a Shelf account. For assistance, contact the support team at [email protected].
Add-on Trials: Audits and Barcodes
In addition to the Team plan trial, Shelf offers 7-day free trials for paid add-ons:
- Audits add-on: Run physical inventory audits with QR scanning, found/missing/unexpected detection, and PDF/CSV export
- Barcodes add-on: Scan and manage Code128, Code39, Data Matrix, and EAN-13 barcodes alongside Shelf QR codes
Both add-on trials can be activated directly from within your workspace — no sales contact required. Workspace owners start the trial from the relevant section (for example, navigating to the Audits area shows an unlock page with trial and subscription options).
The same auto-charge consent applies: if you have a payment method on file when starting an add-on trial, you will need to check a consent box before the trial button becomes active. You'll also receive email reminders at 3 days and 1 day before the trial ends if auto-charge applies to your account.
