SSO Setup Just Got Simpler: Map a Single Group
You no longer need to create a group for every Shelf role to enable SSO — mapping a single group is now enough. We've also added a prerequisites checklist to the SSO setup guide.
Setting up single sign-on no longer requires creating a separate group for every Shelf role. If everyone on your team should have the same role, one group is all you need — Shelf only requires at least one group-to-role mapping when SSO is enabled. Create additional groups only when you want different users to get different roles (Administrator, Self service, or Base).
We've also clarified the group mapping fields and added a "Before you start" prerequisites checklist to the SSO setup guide, covering the non-SSO owner account your workspace needs, what happens to existing workspaces and standard accounts on your domain, and how to plan your group mapping. Together these changes remove the most common points of confusion when turning SSO on.
