Report Values Now Count the Units, Not Just the Items
Rows, buckets, CSVs and PDFs multiply an asset's per-unit value by the quantity each figure is about, so a report's breakdown adds up to its own headline.
Shelf holds one value per unit on an asset. The headline figures at the top of a report already multiplied that by the right quantity. The rows, the chart buckets and the exported files underneath them did not: they summed bare per-unit prices, so one screen gave two answers, and the half that disagreed was the half you hand to somebody else.
On the demo workspace before the fix, Asset Distribution's headline read $44,718.60 while its own category buckets summed to $43,871.95. They now match exactly.
What changed
One rule, applied everywhere: every money number multiplies the per-unit value by the quantity that number is actually about.
- Overdue Items row value at risk counts the units booked on the overdue booking, the same arithmetic as the KPI directly above it.
- Asset Distribution category and status buckets count workspace stock, so both add back up to the headline. Location buckets count the units placed at that location, so a pool split across two sites has its value split with it rather than counted twice. No Location covers assets with no placement recorded anywhere; the unplaced remainder of a partly placed pool is deliberately left out of it, because that bucket has to match the assets you get when you click through to it.
- Asset Inventory and Custody Snapshot exports total the same way in CSV and in PDF.
For an individually tracked asset every one of those quantities is one, so nothing about it changes. The difference is in pooled stock: a $100 item with 5 units out on a late booking is $500 at risk, and it used to read $100.
New columns in two exports
The exports now show the arithmetic rather than only its result.
- Asset Inventory CSV: Quantity, Unit Value, Total Value.
- Custody Snapshot CSV: Units Held, Unit Value, Total Value.
If you have a spreadsheet or a BI job reading either file by column position, it needs a look. Reading by header name is unaffected.
Expect the totals in these reports to move if your workspace tracks anything by quantity. They are moving to the correct number.
