Duplicating a Quantity-Tracked Asset Keeps Its Stock

Duplicating a Quantity-Tracked Asset Keeps Its Stock

A copy of a quantity-tracked asset is now quantity-tracked too, with the same quantity, unit and behaviour, and every copy keeps the original's booking availability.

Duplicating a quantity-tracked asset used to create an individually tracked asset with a single unit. Now the copy is quantity-tracked too. It keeps the original's quantity, unit of measure, behaviour (one-way or two-way) and low-stock threshold, and it starts unplaced so you can put its units where they belong with Place them.

Every copy now also keeps whether the original is available for booking, and a copy of an individually tracked asset keeps its asset model. A quantity-tracked asset with no units in stock cannot be copied, and the dialog says so before you submit. If one of several copies fails, Shelf removes the copies it already made. Several copies are named "(copy 1)", "(copy 2)" and so on. A single copy is named "(copy)".
