Choose Your Own Date Format, Clock, Week Start, and Time Zone

Is 04/03/2026 the 4th of March or the 3rd of April? Until now Shelf answered that with your browser's language header, which meant most people outside the US were reading American dates with no way to change it. That is fixed, and it goes further than the display.

Account settings → General now carries a Language & region card with four choices:

• Date format: day-first, month-first, or year-first, plus two month-name styles (20 Jul 2026, Jul 20, 2026) for when you never want to guess again
• Time format: 12-hour or 24-hour
• Week starts on: Monday, Sunday, or Saturday, which sets the first column of every calendar and date picker
• Time zone: a searchable list, so a timestamp is shown on your clock

A live preview under the fields shows the result before you save.

These are your settings, not your workspace's. Two people in the same workspace can each read the same booking their own way, and emails follow the recipient's preferences. Book equipment for a colleague overseas and the confirmation lands in their format and their time zone.

Every date surface goes through it, not just the screen: CSV exports of assets, bookings, and notes; booking, audit, and report PDFs; booking, audit, and subscription emails. Every date and time field you fill in has moved to one shared picker that reads in your format and starts the week on your day, replacing the browser's own control.

Nothing to configure to get started. Shelf detects your format and time zone from your browser on first sign-in and saves them as real values, and existing accounts are filled in the same way on their next visit. Change them any time under Account settings → General.
