Shelf Companion: Create and Manage Bookings from Your Phone

The Shelf Companion app used to view bookings and check them in and out. It now handles a booking end to end, right from the floor.

Create, edit, and manage bookings on mobile

Tap New booking to set the name, dates, and custodian on your phone, then reserve it. Availability-aware asset and kit pickers only offer gear that's free for the window you chose, so you can't reserve something already committed elsewhere. You can edit and reschedule an existing booking too, and run the full lifecycle — reserve, cancel, archive, delete, or duplicate — without switching to the web. Every action enforces the same permission, ownership, and status rules as the web app, so the phone is never more permissive than your role allows.

Tap a Shelf link, land in the app

Links to an asset, booking, audit, or QR code at app.shelf.nu now open directly in Shelf Companion instead of the browser, on both iPhone (Universal Links) and Android (App Links). Sign-in and account pages still open in the browser, so anything that needs a full web session behaves exactly as before.

Tags on the asset forms

The asset create and edit forms gained a multi-select tag picker, so you can tag an item as you add it and change its tags later without going back to the web.

Scan history from the field

Scanning an asset's QR in the app now records who scanned it and when, so an asset's "last scanned" history reflects field scans, not just the web. Audit lookups still identify a code without recording an ad-hoc scan, so your audit runs don't clutter that history.
