Admins and Owners Can Work on Any Audit, Assigned or Not

An administrator who created an audit and assigned it to someone else could still open the scanner in the Companion app and record scans, but the moment they tried to save a condition note, attach a photo, or tap Complete audit, the app refused with "Only users assigned to this audit can perform this action. Please contact the audit creator to be assigned." — usually to the person who had created it. The same actions worked for them on the web, so the phone and the browser disagreed about the same audit.

They now follow one rule everywhere:

• Owners and administrators can scan, add notes and photos, and complete any audit in their workspace, whether it is assigned to them, to someone else, or to nobody.
• Self-service and base users can work only on the audits they have been assigned to.

Scanning is included in that rule for the first time. It used to sit outside the check entirely, which is why an unassigned user could push an audit to "1/1 found" and then be turned away from every follow-up action. A user who is not allowed to work on an audit is now stopped at the scan, rather than partway through, and nothing is recorded against the audit.

Nothing changes about who can create, cancel, archive or delete audits, and assigning an audit still means what it always did: it is how you hand a count to a self-service or base user, and how everyone else can see whose job it is.
