A Kit Can Answer a Model Reservation

A unit that arrives inside a kit now settles a reserved model unit, just as a loose one does — and the Fulfil reservations & check out scanner takes kit scans.
A booking can reserve a count of an Asset Model — "4 × Canon EOS R5" — without naming units, and those reserved units are settled by putting matching assets on the booking. Until now only a unit picked on its own counted. Anything that arrived inside a kit settled nothing.
That read wrong on both sides of the calendar. Your own booking said "2 of 3 units still to assign" with the third camera physically on it, inside a case. And every other booking on those dates saw one fewer unit of that model than the workspace owns, because the kit's camera was already held against them while your reservation went on demanding a replacement for it.
A camera in a case is the same camera
A unit answers a reservation whichever way it arrives: picked loose, or carried in by a kit you added from the Kits tab in Manage assets, the kit page's Add to booking, the kit picker on a new booking, or a scan. Each physical unit answers at most one reserved unit per booking, so nothing is counted twice.
Rows that answered a reservation now say which one. A booking asset row that discharged a reserved unit carries a blue Fulfils model name chip — the piece that was missing when the unit arrived inside a kit and a number moved somewhere else on the page with nothing to connect it to.
Kits in the fulfil scanner
A Reserved booking with units still to assign opens Check out into the Fulfil reservations & check out scanner. That scanner used to turn every kit away. It takes them now: a scanned kit goes on the booking whole, its matching members assign outstanding reserved units on the way, and the kit's row says how many it settles, for example Assigns 2 reserved units. The rule is the server's, so it reaches the Shelf Companion app on your phone at the same time, with nothing to install.
What that scanner does refuse is a loose scan of a unit that belongs to a kit nobody scanned — "Canon EOS R5 #0042" belongs to a kit, so it can't go out on its own. Sending one member of a case into the field on its own is almost never what the operator meant. Scan the kit to take all of it, or scan another unit of the same model.
One thing to know
Kits that were already on a booking are not settled retroactively — only a kit that arrives from now on answers a reservation. If a booking has been sitting with a kit on it and a reservation still open, take the kit off and add it again.
