Shelf Companion for Android — Now on Google Play
The free Android companion to your Shelf workspace is live on Google Play. Scan QR codes, run audits live from the floor, manage custody, and handle booking check-in/check-out — same login, same data. Also on iPhone.
Shelf Companion is now live on Google Play for Android — joining the iPhone app that launched in May. Free with any Shelf account, including the free Personal tier.
What it does
- Scan Shelf QR codes and registered barcodes — Code 128, Code 39, EAN-13, DataMatrix, and external QR — with the phone camera, jump straight to the asset.
- View the full asset detail — image, status, category, location, custody, and recent activity.
- Update asset location and assign or release custody right from the floor.
- Run audits live — walk, scan, see found / expected / unexpected counts update in real time, complete the audit when done.
- Booking check-in and check-out — process scans for a booking from the gear room.
- Multi-workspace — switch organizations from Settings; the app respects each workspace's role-based access.
What stays on the web today
- Adding notes and photos to an individual audit scan (per-scan evidence capture is web-only for now; on the roadmap for a future release).
- Linking a QR code to an asset or creating a new asset from an unlinked code (the app shows an informational message; do the linking in the web app for now).
- Workspace setup, billing, configuration, custom fields, user/role management, integrations, and full reporting.
